What is the difference between
single-ended bulb and a double-ended bulb?
What is the difference between a single-ended bulb and a double-ended bulb? And what kind of installation methods are there to be safe? And what is the new TIS standard? Today, LeKise (LeKise) will come to answer questions for everyone. For single-ended bulbs and double-ended bulbs that are commonly used in homes. Outward appearances may be similar. But there will be different points.
For double-end bulbs, there are two inputs. Once the Double-End bulb has been inserted into one of the rail terminals, On the other side there will be electricity flowing through it. If we accidentally put our hands on the lamp holder while installing will cause an electric shock. Because of this, a standard story was added. TIS. 2779-2562, new edition, effective on March 29, 2022 for double-pole LED lamps. To replace it as a Single-end type for more safety in use.
For a single-ended lamp, it is a lamp that has only one power input. When the tube is installed on one side of the rail. The light will turn on immediately. When you put your hand on the other side of the lamp holder Fire will not be able to absorb us. Because Single-end bulbs have only one way of power.
The new TIS standard, thus making the use of light bulbs more secure In terms of installing single-end bulbs, it can be installed up to 3 types.
LeKise today I will recommend installing all 3 of these together.
Installation Type 1
Installation type 2
For the case that the customer already has a track at home and want to change a new tube Before going to buy every lamp, it should be noted that the trough at your home.
Which type of rail is it? Single-end rail or Double-end rail?
If it is a single-end type rail, you can put a single-ended Perfect ECO tube into it. Do not forget to observe the L and N symbols before inserting the tube every time.
Must be on the same side as the rail terminal where the wires are connected.
As for Double end rails, there will be cable connections on both sides. Double end rails cannot be used with Single End tubes at all.
But will have to reconnect the power cable. For reconnecting the wires in the Double-end rail to be compatible with the LED Single-End, the steps are as follows.
1. When the rail has been opened. You can see that there are two wires. located at the terminals of the rails on both sides Take the power cord out to one side. and bring that wire to the same pole (see video example)
2. When the power cord is completed. Put the terminal back on the rail and close the rail.
3. Bring the Single-End Perfect ECO tube into it, but don't forget!! Observe the L and N symbols before installing every time. To be on the side with the rail terminal that we connect the wires to
Type 3 installation
It is to install the Perfect ECO Single-end tube into the tube of the fluorescent tube. There are steps as follows:
1. Remove the fluorescent lamp. and remove the old starter
2. Put the LED starter that is included with the Perfect ECO Single-end bulb and insert it into the starter terminal.
3. Install the tube. for fluorescent rails The lamp can be inserted into either side. in the fluorescent rail set
or in the case of customers do not want to use the bulb ballast passed Can use the same method as connecting the wires of the Double end rail. There are simple steps as follows.
1. Turn off the light and remove the old fluorescent tube.
2. Open the fluorescent rail. can see that there is a ballast Take the wires out of the ballast. At this stage, the ballast can be removed. or not removed
3. When finished removing the power cord. On the other side of the rail terminal, remove the wires as well. can cut wires and tape it. Because we will use only one pole.
4. Bring two house wires. Go to the wires from the other two terminals. (See the video for an example.)
5. Insert the tube. Make sure to look at the L and N symbols before inserting the bulb. In the terminal rail we connect the wires. This just works.
After this, there will be no replacement tubes on the market that are double-ended, single-tube types.
But will only be available as a full set of tubes with rails. Summary is the new standard TIS. 2779-2562 Designed for our own safety.
Finally, don't forget!! Before buying any light bulbs, always check the bulbs at home to see if they are working properly. Is it a fluorescent tube or if it's a LED tube?
It is a single end or double end type for safety in installation and use.
